I’m not quite sure why it would be doing this because the only requirement for buying a double bed is having a house of at least level three. Make sure you are looking at the workshop and not at the junk shop because there is no way to buy one from there.
If that doesn’t work, try waiting a few days. If the game still will not let you buy a double bed, try expanding your house to a size four to see if that will trigger the arrival of a double bed at the workshop.
